Michael Wells: Horsham Locality Lead

I’m Michael and I have been the Practice Manager at The Courtyard Surgery since April 2022.

After working for a private healthcare organisation within the Prison estate for 6 years I wanted to challenge myself further and move into the world of general practice. I was given my first opportunity at a small village practice in East Sussex where I worked for 2 years through the Covid pandemic.

Having lived in Crawley all my life, I moved to the Horsham area with my wife and son in 2021. I feel that living in the local area and being aware of the needs of the local population this supports my ability to support my practice, staff and patients in the services we provide. Outside of work I enjoy spending valuable time with my family and friend.

I thoroughly enjoy my role as Practice Manager – most of the time - mainly due to the challenges, variety and people that I work with. I have found the WSPMA to be a really supportive group of Practice Managers and a team I enjoy working with as a Committee Member
